When I started in the industry, we were all known as stockbrokers. My job was to identify the best investments for the client. The job was mostly transactional, and discussions rarely went beyond an investment statement. This continued for some time until I had a conversation with a client about her special needs son. I provided some financial advice related to the matter and her response stopped me cold in my tracks, she said, “no offense, but you’re just a stockbroker.”

I put my career on hold, went to graduate school full-time, obtained a Degree in Financial and Tax Planning from San Diego State University with honors and received my Certified Financial Planning (CFP) designation. I changed organically within an industry still stuck in its old ways and now I work with clients on a comprehensive basis, where more than investments are discussed. It allowed me to help clients make smart decisions about their life and their wealth, as life intersects money in many ways. Thereafter, I went on to work at a premier financial planning firm for over a decade, gaining invaluable experience in complex planning matters. In 2016, I started my own firm where I continue to provide expert advice and a sound, strategic and comprehensive strategy customized to each individual or couple, with a focus on helping people to retire and stay successfully retired with confidence. From stockbroker to seasoned advisor, I’m still learning and growing professionally, and am passionate in my desire to help people live their best life.
